Dr. Robert Shindell
President & CEO
Dr. Robert Shindell is the President and CEO of Intern Bridge, the nation’s premier experiential education research and firm, and is nationally recognized for helping employers and educational institutions build, maintain, sustain and grow internship and other forms of experiential education programs and initiatives. He is one of the most sought-after consultants, speakers and thought leaders in the country on internships and experiential learning, entry-talent acquisition, workforce development and career services effectiveness.
Over the last 23 years, Dr. Robert Shindell has served as an experiential education thought leader and practitioner, as well as a senior administrator in both public and private institutions of higher education. Through his highly acclaimed Total Internship Management Workshop, Dr. Shindell has trained thousands of employers to build and sustain meaningful internship programs across the country. He has also worked with hundreds of colleges and universities in the workforce development area, as well as developing comprehensive strategic initiatives, supporting plan implementation, and building successful teams.
Dr. Shindell also serves as a member of the Distinguished Scientists Advisory Board for the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) to maximizing The United States Department of Energy’s strategic objectives. In addition to expanding ORISE thought leadership, the DSAB works closely with ORISE leadership, technical experts and liaisons to ensure that strategic milestones related to ORISE activities are met.
Dr. Shindell earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University, a master’s degree in training and development from Midwestern State University, and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Toledo. Dr. Shindell is also an adjunct faculty member in the College of Business and Communications at Concordia University of Texas.
Dr. Shindell is originally from Lancaster County Pennsylvania, but currently resides in Austin, Texas with his wife of 17 years, Christy. Robert and Christy have two amazing kids, Jack (12) and Charley (8). When not working, Dr. Shindell is active in his children’s school and sports activities as well as serving on various volunteer boards for the Leander (TX) Independent School District.

Dr. Kathy Tuberville
Senior Vice President & Chief Learning Officer
Dr. Kathy Tuberville is the Faculty Director of Fogelman Experiential Learning at the University of Memphis Fogelman College of Bsuiness. She has a diverse career background in both higher education and business leadership roles. Through various human resource management and marketing positions within Memphis, Dr. Tuberville became interested in the role of developing college students for the workplace and has over 25 years of experience in teaching, experiential learning, and working with students in innovative professional development programs. She has worked with numerous organizations to build recruiting programs that yield high impact talent development programs. She is the faculty advisor for the University of Memphis SHRM Student Chapter and is on the faculty of the Management Department in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics where she teaches HR courses and advises internships for management students. She currently serves as VP of Programs for SHRM-Memphis and coordinates innovative programs for regional HR professionals. Through her work with regional employers, she has assisted over 3,000 students with meaningful experiential learning and internship experiences. Her research interests include experiential learning, leadership, and human resource management.

Christine Barkley, MS
Director of Curriculum, Research & Programming
Christine Barkley is the Director of Curriculum, Research & Programming and will now be responsible for leading the organization’s Total Internship Management workshops. Over the last decade, Christine has served as an experiential education program manager, a career coach and has successfully held professional leadership roles in public institutions of higher education. Christine is known for her unwavering dedication to students’ career success and her ability to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with both employers and university leadership.
Christine is a dedicated professional with life design expertise and views internships and other experiential education activities as ways students can prototype career paths before graduation. She is uniquely skilled at integrating life design into career courses and programs she’s created to assist students in connecting with employers early on during their college careers. Christine is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her experiential education expertise and coaching skills to help individuals develop greater self-awareness, explore careers that align with their interests and make strong career decisions based on their personal values and career goals.
Christine earned a master’s degree in Higher Education at Penn State’s College of Education, and two bachelor’s degrees in Childhood Education and Mathematics from the State University of New York at Cortland.
Christine is inspired daily by her husband Kyle and they currently reside wherever they park their fifth wheel RV! She is originally from Penn Yan, New York and when her and her husband aren’t traveling, you will find them spending quality time with their families and soaking up the sun with their adorable golden retriever pup on Keuka Lake.
